Thank you for agreeing to contribute to Motorsport Women. Our aim is to tell stories of women like you and to inspire other women and girls who might want to get into motorsport. We want to show the many ways in which women enjoy their passion, create a community of like-minded people, and hopefully, in the future, offer racing opportunities and promotional support to our contributors.

There are quite a few questions below. They are just there as a guide so you don’t forget to tell us anything. We would love to hear your story in your own words.

Make a video instead?

If you prefer, video yourself answering the questions or just telling your story. We’d be happy to edit this and create a video interview, which you can share on your own social media too. If you can send us any other footage of you driving or riding at the track, we can turn it into an epic profile film.

Photos

Please could you send me some good quality photos to use with your interview, or put in writing that you’re happy for Motorsport Women to use your photos that have been shared through your social media.

Is motorsport your profession or your hobby? If it’s a hobby, what’s your day job?

How did you get introduced to motorsport/karting/biking? When? Did you love it immediately?

What are your first memories of it?

What does motorsport give you personally? How does it make you feel? What aspects of it do you love the most?

What car, bike or karts do you own or drive/ride regularly? Where?

What’s your dream car, bike or kart?

What’s your favourite track or route and why?

Who’s your motorsports hero or role model?

What has had the biggest impact on improving your driving, riding or racing skills?

If you had unlimited cash, what would you do in motorsport?

Are you a member of any woman-in-motorsport associations or groups? How have they helped you?

Although there seem to be more women becoming involved in motorsport, why do you think there are still so few? What can be done to encourage more?

Do you think attitudes to women in motorsport are changing? Do you think attitudes are different from country to country?

What advice would you give girls or women wanting to get into motorsport?

How did you get in to racing? Did you have help and encouragement? Did anyone try and tell you not to do it?

What do you feel most proud of achieving on the track?

What do you think others rate as your greatest racing achievement on the track?

What is your racing ambition? Where do you dream of racing? Which track and what race?

What advice would you give to anyone doing their first race?

Have you experienced any sexism when racing, if so, how do you deal with it? Does it bother you?

As a woman, what advantage, if any, do you feel you have over male drivers on the track? Do you feel there are disadvantages?
